No doubt I speak for most of us when I say this is great news. A brutal dictator has been removed and maybe there is yet again hope for the citizens of Neocron to get freed after years of oppression.

Rezas personal clerk “Steven Emmerson” was sought after by the NCPD in connection to Rezas death.
He was quick to contact our Leadership, asking for refuge in turn for valuable information on Neocrons regime - a chance to good to pass. Emmerson managed to stay hidden in the outer zones of Neocron before a rapid response squad, consisting of members from various Alliance factions, went in and provided a safe retreat and escort to the dome.

According to Emmerson himself he had nothing to do with the assasination of Reza, the fact that he had served him for more than a decade and was seemingly shocked by the events make me feel tempted to believe him.
After he had arrived in the Dome, we arranged a short interview with Steven Emmerson:

VotR: Mr. Emmerson, how are you now ?
SE : I´m strongly confused and very disappointed. I cannot believe what happened. Of course I sometimes had my doubts concerning the way our government ran Neocron, but I loved my city, my home and I believed in Rezas ideals and the Cityadmins goodwill. All of that is shattered now - my head bears a bounty and the cruel lies of those who I served for such a long time have destroyed my life.

VotR: Tell us about the last minutes of Rezas life.
SE : He was at his private office in Viarosso - thats where I work… worked as well. At midday he had his usual coffee, which I brought him. I then returned to my desk to get some of the paperwork done. It must have been roughly 30 minutes later that I got up and went to see Reza as I needed him to sign a few documents. As I entered his office I already saw him on the floor, which was covered in porcellain splinters as he obviously dropped the cup.
I checked his pulse for a sign of life… but the way he lay there, I realised he was gone. I got up and immediately called the security… after that, I cannot remember what happened precisly. It was all too much …I do remember one of the NCPD Officers pointing at me and yelling ‘arrest the traitor’ …or something along these lines. I cant recall how I managed to escape the building. With the use of my personal stealth-tool I got into the outzone safely. It was there, that I realised what had really happened: I was declared the murderer of Lioon Reza - I was shocked.

VotR: It seems you were a loyal servant of the brutal regime then. Why should you be trusted by our Alliance? Who tells us your story is the truth?
SE : Well, name me one reason why I should lie… or why should i kill the leader of Neocron? My job was very good, the
salary was superb, I was granted a very comfortable life, had everything worked out. I did not kill Reza nor did I have anything to do with this murder.
One thing is for sure, the latest events shook me up and opened my eyes for the lies I was surrounded with. My interest was and still is to serve the people of Neocron - the ordinary citizens, those who suffer from the scrupulous doings of the City Admin.
There is no-one else I could turn to in my seek for assistance, other than the Dome. I owe you my life and I will surely not betray you.

VotR: For most people in the Dome the death of Reza is welcome news as it might provide a chance to help free the citizens of Neocron.
As Ronald Rodriguez mentioned yesterday, there’s reason enough for a little celebration - the end of a bad era. Speaking of the news, how come a Neocronicle Reporter published the news of Rezas death before an official stament was made - isnt this rather unusual taking into account the strong censorship?
SE : Well, I don´t know if i should tell you, but…. he, William Frost, was onf of my best friends - he was always first to receive any official press releases from our office. I called him after I had escaped the NCPD in Viarosso. On the one hand he didn´t like Reza all that much and he smelled a big story.. but as you can see, the City Admin replaced the truth with lies all over the Neocronicle already.

VotR: Did you hear anything from him after he published that article? It was said that he is being sent off to some kind of political reeducation facility.
SE : I really don’t know. I have not heard from him since and I fear the City Admin is not so much interested in reeducating him as in seeing him ‘disappear’ alltogether.

VotR: Thank you very much Mr. Emmerson, hopefully you will soon feel a little more at home here in our Dome, fellow citizen.
SE : Thank you very much, and I would also like to thank all the brave men and women involved with extraction - you saved my life, no doubt. Thank you!
